Unknown assailants have shot and killed on Friday a Ugandan female lecturer teaching at a university in Mogadishu, the latest in a string of killings in Somali capital, Jiinwabi.net reports.

The victim, Layla was a lecturer in the Faculty of Economics at the Somali University and the she was killed by gunmen at Bar-Ubah neighborhood, according to a female student who spoke to Jiinwabi.net on condition of anonymity, for security reason.
“The gunmen picked Layla from a car as she was returning from the university in Bar-Ubah neighborhood and heading to Km4 branch at noon on Friday. They shot her at at a point bland range in the head by assasins and she died in the hospital upon arrival due to her serious wound,” said the student.
There’s been no immediate claim of responsibility for the murder of the university lecturer. It is the second assassination on Friday alone in Mogadishu.
A Somali lawmaker was killed in a car bombing Friday morning near the presidential palace in the country’s capital, a fellow lawmaker said.
Parliament member Mohammed Warsame Feisal, apparently unaware that someone had planted a bomb in his car, was driving the vehicle when the bomb exploded in Mogadishu.
