SOMALIA: Central Bank governor resigns a month after she was appointed for the positio

The new governor of the Central Bank of Somalia [CBS] Yusra Abrar has resigned on Friday only one month after she was appointed for the position.

According to a letter sent by Mrs Abrar to the President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the new governor did not give ay details surrounding her urgent resignation.
Yusra Abrar was appointed as the new governor of the Central Bank of Somalia on late September after the end of the Somalia New Deal Conference held in Brussels.
According to officials familiar with the resignation, Mrs Abrar complained over unpleasant behaviour inside the government’s management and was angered by growing intervention against her office.
But another unnamed government official who confirmed that Yusra Abrar resigned from her position said that she left after failing to employ a new mechanism to recover the country’s economy and bring a strong measure to manage the world donation to the new Somalia.
