Somalia Football Federation’s Secretary General will be on of the key figures to manage the 2013 FIFA beach soccer to be held in Tahiti on 18th of this month (September).

Abdi Qani Said Arab, who was in December 2011 appointed by FIFA as a member of its beach soccer committee, became the first Somali Football Federation to take such role nearly ten year, after late Federation Chairman banned for corruption.

“This is a great move forward and it is a clear signal for the revival of Somalia’s publicity among the world football after the world’s football governing body gave Farah Addo a 10-year ban nearly a decade ago—now we are back on the platform and that is a great encouragement for the entire people of Somalia” Somali Football Federation Chief media officer Shafi’i Mohyaddin Abokar said in a press statement on Friday.

Mohyaddin praised the activeness of Abdi Qani who is working hard to help his country’s football development.

“Abdi Qani is a very active man and so far has had a great influence in the East and Central Africa football, he is one of the most hard-working young people whose activities in such lawless country had already cheered the president of FIFA Mr. Joseph S Blatter” he added.

FIFA is helping Somalia football to develop, recently holding the first grass route training in the country in the history.

Recently, FIFA Goal Project concluded re-building Benadir Stadium, which is no the only football stadium in the country with the artificial grass.
