Somalia’s Minster for Ministry of Public Work, Ports & Transport has revealed that plans are underway to modernize several airports in Central and Southern Somalia.
Muhayadin Mohamed Kamlmoy, the Minister for Ministry of Public Work, Ports & Transport said that facilities at Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu will be upgraded to international standards.
other airports to benefit from the developement scheme include airports in Kismayo, Baidhoa and Galkaayo.
Somalia’s airports and other key public facilities have endured 21 years of destruction and negligence since the fall of Mohamed Siyad Barre’s government in 1991 and some are in dire need of reconstruction.
